Description

Experience the tranquil pleasure of a tropical fish aquarium without the need for feeding and maintenance. Beautifully expressing the strong tie between the tiny islands of Venice and the briny lagoon in which they reside, this Murano Glass Aquarium is handmade by Murano glass blowers. Colorful fish, underwater reeds, and decorations are created from glass rods, called murrina, then skillfully embedded (while nearly molten) within the glass "tank" of this enchanting Murano Glass Aquarium. The result is a masterful illusion of movement made more vibrant and magical in natural light.

Museum Story

This extraordinary Murano Glass Aquarium calls to mind the breathtaking interactive experience offered by our National Museum of Natural History's Sant Ocean Hall while celebrating the exceptional collection of Murano glass curated by our National Museum of American History. Renowned the world over for their centuries-long mastery of the fluid art of mouth-blown glass, Murano glass artisans create unique works of heirloom art.

I looked at this piece for a long time before I finally broke down and bought it. The colors are vivid. It's very attractive. The best placement for this piece is an area that gets a lot of light because all the colors pop and a sense of motion becomes apparent. philadelphia

I have admired this piece for years! It is more beautiful than I had anticipated, with rich colors and heavy glass. The perfect Focal Point for a table or shelf, or a beautiful addition to a window sill. You will not be disappointed! Woodland, California
