Description

Experience the tranquil pleasure of a tropical fish aquarium without the need for feeding and maintenance. Beautifully expressing the strong tie between the tiny islands of Venice and the briny lagoon in which they reside, this Murano Glass Aquarium is handmade by Murano glass blowers. Colorful fish, underwater reeds, and decorations are created from glass rods, called murrina, then skillfully embedded (while nearly molten) within the glass "tank" of this enchanting Murano Glass Aquarium. The result is a masterful illusion of movement made more vibrant and magical in natural light. Made in Italy. Each will vary, making it truly one-of-a-kind.

Museum Story

This extraordinary Murano Glass Aquarium calls to mind the breathtaking interactive experience offered by our National Museum of Natural History’s Sant Ocean Hall while celebrating the exceptional collection of Murano glass curated by our National Museum of American History. Renowned the world over for their centuries-long mastery of the fluid art of mouth-blown glass, Murano glass artisans create unique works of heirloom art.

I was upset that my husband spent the money on it at first ,but I 'm glad he did. It's beautiful backlit by natural light and I see something new everyday. Brings back memories of snorkeling. The qualities of the glass are amazing. central PA

These fish look different each time I look at it. A different part of the aquarium is enhanced by the changing light throughout the day, whether it be the fish, the bubbles, or the added colors. Something new catches my eye every time I look at it. We recently lost our 'pet' fish and it cheerfully reminds me of him. Yorba Linda, CA

It is especially pretty online; the one I received was okay but not as pretty - it has a bubble around one fish which is distracting. (It almost looks like the fish has been glued inside the glass). Also my Murano glass aquarium features a very strong orange color on several fish which I didn't think would be so intense by the online picture. It may be best to buy this item in person to get the one you like. California

This glass aquarium is expensive but worth the money to me since it's one of those collectibles I won't get tired of in a year or two. It's relaxing to glance at while I'm on my computer....I love the way it shines in the light on the windowsill. Sometimes if I glance at it quickly it almost looks like the fish are floating around. I've shopped around and seen cheaper versions of glass aquariums on other websites but this is obviously a higher quality product. It's heavy enough to not be tipped over easily which is also a plus. So I have no regrets purchasing this - it was a gift to myself! Silicon Valley, CA

Fantastic item that looks great in any home or office. Murano glass is beyond compare. And my toddler son loves to look at the fish and all their different colors. Salisbury, MD
