Museum Story
The Smithsonian's 19th and newest museum'the National Museum of African American History and Culture (NMAAHC) is the only national museum devoted exclusively to the documentation of African American life, art, history, and culture. The symbolic three-tiered corona architecture of the museum emulates the three-tiered crowns used in Yoruban art in West Africa.
