A special friend lost her stepmother just before Christmas. The experience was very difficult, and she was filled with a great deal of pain. In order to freshen up, she left her mother-in-law's room after she was pronounced dead. When she returned to the hospital room she caught a glimpse of a butterfly against a turquoise background. At that moment she remembered that a butterfly signified hope as well as spring with its beautiful colors. To Christians the butterfly is also a symbol of the resurrection...another symbol of hope. I bought these Cloisonné Butterflies from the Smithsonian Store on the internet. It was a first purchase to try out the process and the Smithsonian Store. I paid FedEx to deliver the product which was quite expensive but certainly speedy. I was happy with the appearance of the butterflies. I took 2 for myself. I shifted one's position on the fridge and the magnet detached from the butterfly and remained on the fridge and the magnet and its container detached from the second one, I had already dropped off several butterflies as small Christmas/New year presents with the sentiment of "have a beautiful 2017".I am so embarrassed that they will have the same experience as me and am no longer going to give one each to my special bookclub friends and will not purchase again from the Smithsonian Store because of doubts about the quality.
