Description

Celebrate 40 years of NASA's space shuttle Discovery and bring the excitement of exploration to a Christmas tree or year-round home decor. Between Discovery's public rollout ceremony in 1983 and its retirement in 2011, it flew 39 missions and is now the centerpiece of our National Air and Space Museum's Stephen F. Udvar-Hazy Center. Etched brass is plated with a palladium metal finish and hand-screened enameled accents. Comes in a storage box with a ribbon ready for hanging.

Museum Story

The Smithsonian's National Air and Space Museum maintains the world's largest and most significant collection of aviation and space artifacts, encompassing all aspects of human flight, as well as related works of art and archival materials. The Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center is the companion facility to the museum and houses hundreds of historically significant air- and spacecraft, along with thousands of small artifacts.
