Description

The Smithsonian's first and oldest building stands out on the National Mall in red sandstone and medieval revival style architecture. Known as the Smithsonian Castle, it was built in 1855 and today serves as our Visitor Center and administrative offices. Though the Castle closed in 2023 for multiyear renovations, one dramatic change to look forward to is the removal of second-floor offices for the restoration of the magnificent Great Hall.

In the meantime, keep a piece of Washington, D.C. history on display at home during the holidays or year round with this 3D metal keepsake ornament with gold highlights. Arrives in a handsome gift box with info card.
