Description

Yukata are casual kimonos made of cotton. Originally worn as bathhouse robes, in modern Japan yukata are worn to special events in summer or at home as lounging robes. The elegant pattern of this Japanese Plum Navy Yukata features a perfectly balanced design of plum blossoms and Japanese bush warblers on a navy blue background.

Museum Story

The National Museum of Asian Art is a global resource for understanding Asian arts, cultures, and societies and their intersection with the United States. Opened in 1923 as the country's first national art museum, it now stewards one of the world's best collections of Asian art, which date from antiquity to the present, from China, Japan, Korea, South Asia, Southeast Asia, the Ancient Near East, and the Islamic world (including Central Asia, the Middle East, and North Africa). The museum also holds an important array of 19th- and early 20th-century American art of the Aesthetic Movement.

Customer Rating: 4 out of 5 Nice robe

I like the material. It's pretty and will be good for warmer temps to wear when I have guests. The reason why I gave it 4 stars rather than 5 is that it is too long for me, and I wish it had pockets. I am 5'4" and weigh 165 lbs. It is big enough, which is good. Overall, after I have it altered, I think I will really enjoy it.
