Description

Luxuriate in spa-like splendor in smooth cotton sateen with our authentic Flowers in Bloom Yukata robe. Beautifully printed by artisans in the ancient city of Kyoto, Japan, this design is part of a long tradition of yukata kimono. Originally worn as bathhouse robes, in modern Japan yukata are worn to special events in summer or at home as comfy lounging robes.

This feminine pink floral yukata elevates an everyday shower routine and makes a special gift for anyone who deserves a little extra pampering.

Included belt ships inside one of the sleeves.

Museum Story

The Freer Gallery of Art and Arthur M. Sackler Gallery, the Smithsonian's National Museum of Asian Art, opened to the public in 1923, a gift to the nation from Charles Lang Freer. The Gallery contains an extensive collection of oriental art, prints, sculpture and silk panels, as well as a major group of 19th and 20th century American works.

The sleeves took a little figuring out but I am enjoying using both this pink and the navy kimonos; comfortable and a perfect fit!

I took a chance and purchased a size small for a tiny friend - it was too long, but they absolutely LOVED the gift and have already shortened it. I did not take the garment out of the bag before giving since it would not be easy to fold back into it, but the quality of the fabric and print looked great. I am tempted to purchase one for myself. The gift was a HUGE success.

Ordered for my wife as a Christmas present. She normally wears a large. This gown is almost one foot too long. No easy way to return.

I purchased two Yukata for my young adult granddaughters, and we were all impressed by the silky feel of the cotton and the quality of construction. They were so thrilled, they wore them the rest of Christmas Day. They are 5'7", and the length was perfect.

Recipient is very pleased. Color is bright, feminine. Robe is elegant and exotic. She is 5'5" and the Small is touching the top of her feet - to give you an idea of the length.

Gorgeous yukata, but even though I ordered down a size (XL to L) it was still a couple of inches too long (I'm 5'5").
