Aspiring engineers, space crew, and maybe even future Mars residents will learn about Martian geology and space exploration with the Smithsonian Mars Dig Kit. Assemble a scale model of the Mars Perseverence Rover using detailed instructions. Use the mallet and dowel to excavate basalt—the same type of rock found on Mars—from a solid block of sand. Kit also includes a full color poster.
