Smithsonian Institution Exclusive
Description
Bedtime becomes a scavenger hunt with pajamas covered in drawings of visitors' favorite objects from the National Museum of African American History & Culture. The achievements of musicians, fighter pilots, athletes, activists, and more are all represented in this hand-drawn, exclusive design. These snug-fit PJs are produced at a small-batch, female-run factory in Peru using 100% Peruvian pima cotton. Hand-sourced and blended with longer staple threads, this durable pima cotton is the softest and most luxurious on the market, and it is also naturally hypoallergenic and chemical free to protect your little one's sensitive skin.
Museum Story
The National Museum of African American History and Culture is the nation's largest and most comprehensive cultural destination devoted exclusively to exploring, documenting, and showcasing the African American story and its impact on American and world history. Established by an Act of Congress in 2003, it is the culmination of decades of efforts to establish a national museum that promotes and highlights the contributions of African Americans. To date, the Museum has collected close to 37,000 objects.
Created in collaboration with Joy Street Kids
Joy Street Kids is a small, Boston-based kids pajama and apparel brand. Each and every Joy Street Kids print is hand-drawn and designed with love by founder and mom, Eliza Ferrel. The collection is produced at a small-batch, female run factory in Peru using the coziest Pima Cotton on the market.
Eliza's thematic and location-based prints are intended to spark conversation and discovery. Children and adults alike will learn about the Smithsonian through exploring the icons, elements, and riddles scattered throughout each print.
