Description
Tassels are much more than a pretty home accessory. In ancient eras they were worn as talismans and signs of rank and prestige. In 16th-century France, members of the Guild of Passementiers were highly skilled craftsmen who specialized in textile trimmings including fringes, brainded cords, pompoms, and tassels of all colors and sizes. Here an illustration of a dozen tassels in holiday colors bring their sweeping, swirling shapes to a lively silk scarf.
