Description
Hokusai's iconic woodblock print The Great Wave Off Kanagawa comes to life in a striking tailored jacket of steel blue with metallic silver thread. Unlined, with a stand collar and traditional fold-back cuffs. The jacket also features convenient on-seam pockets and side slits that allow for ease of movement. Many of the prolific artist's works are in the Freer Gallery of Art Collection.
Museum Story
The Freer Gallery of Art and Arthur M. Sackler Gallery, the Smithsonian's National Museum of Asian Art, opened to the public in 1923, a gift to the nation from Charles Lang Freer. The Gallery contains an extensive collection of oriental art, prints, sculpture and silk panels, as well as a major group of 19th and 20th century American works.
