Description

Sparkle Like a First Lady. Bejeweled with Austrian crystals, this First Ladies Eagle Pin is adapted from a brooch in our American History Museum's The First Ladies exhibition. Created in 1967 to honor all future U.S. first ladies, this historic pin is perfect for casual or dressy outfits. Made in China.

Museum Story

Our forefathers established a lasting democracy, guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution. President Lincoln kept our nation united, while abolishing slavery. And political parties—channels of our passions—have helped to keep alive our freedom to choose our leaders. These exceptional patriotic gifts and keepsakes were inspired by the Presidential and political collections of our National Museum of American History.

This pin was a gift from my husband a while ago and I always received compliments when I wore it. Unfortunately I lost it and would desperately like to be able to buy another one. He is ill and often asks me why I am not wearing it. Is there anyway I can buy another one? Jenkintown, PA

I love this pin, and appreciate that I could only get it from Smithsonian. Am considering getting one for my brother because in some circumstances it could also be used by a man. Brewster NY

This will be used on a ladie's suit or business dress at a Military reunion; instead of the flag and ribbons I always used, the eagle will be an excellent touch. Lancaster, PA

This pin is so well-made and beautiful that it looks like fine jewelry. The connection with first ladies adds to is charm. Also, for the last several years, I have been monitoring an eagles' nest in Iowa each spring, so this pin also has that special association for me. Memphis, TN
