Description

In Washington, D.C., thousands of blooming cherry trees are the most unmistakable sign that winter is over and warmer days are here. In Japan, where cherry blossoms are known as sakura and are the national flower, they symbolize new beginnings, making a cherry blossom gift a perfect choice for an engagement party, a wedding present, or for a new job or retirement. Cherry blossom glasswares like this pair of modern stemless wine glasses are a touching housewarming gift, too, perfect for entertaining and everyday use alike.

Museum Story

The Freer Gallery of Art and Arthur M. Sackler Gallery, the Smithsonian's National Museum of Asian Art, opened to the public in 1923, a gift to the nation from Charles Lang Freer. The Gallery contains an extensive collection of oriental art, prints, sculpture and silk panels, as well as a major group of 19th and 20th century American works.
