Description

An art-inspired coin purse is a more attractive way to corral change, credit cards, or other small items. The top-zip cosmetic purse has a full length outer zippered pocket for extra organization. These petite and colorful zip-top purses are made with woven tapestry fabric that recalls materials found in the costume collections at the Renwick Gallery. Museum Story

There are over 50,000 objects in the textile collections of our National Museum of American History, Behring Center. The collections have two major themes: the production and use of textiles in America, and the evolution of textile technology through time. The collections, therefore, consist not only of fabrics, raw fibers and yarns, but also machines, tools and implements used to process them.

    I was surprised to have the same experience as the previous reviewer in that I, too, received two coin purses instead of a cosmetic purse and a coin purse. One of the coin purses was in the "Wild Mango" design, the other was in the geometric design. When I called about the mix-up, I was told the cosmetic purse was out of stock and was not going to be carried any longer. The representative was very nice and accommodating. I was instructed that I could keep both AND I was refunded the cost of my order. I don't understand why, in the new catalog, they continue to showcase the cosmetic purse! They should either get some more in stock or stop advertising it. That is false advertising! I am pleased with the coin purse. It looks as advertised.

    Customer Rating: 3 out of 5 Beautiful bags--but I did not get the right smaller bag!

    The Mango bag set I ordered was messed up by Smithsonian's Shipping Department, so while I received the larger of the set of 2 but instead of the smaller Mango bag, I received another larger bag of a different design! Understandable given the shortage of staff everywhere, but I am not inclined to trust another order to the Smithsonian until much later in 2022! Please fix your poor Customer Service so that others don't have their holiday 2021 orders changed on your site!
