Description
Journey to the Red Planet—no rocket required. With this excavation kit, kids chip away at a sand block to uncover six pieces of basalt, the same type of rock found on Mars. They'll also assemble a scale model of NASA's Perseverance rover, learning how real spacecraft are used to explore Martian terrain and search for signs of ancient life. Our Mars Dig Kit is a hands-on introduction to planetary science and the Smithsonian's ongoing role in space exploration.
Now in updated packaging—same hands-on STEM activities inside!
