Description
Celebrate one of the world's most famous treasures with this sparkling "Hope Diamond" ornament. Inspired by the 45.52-carat blue-gray diamond—on view at the National Museum of Natural History—the ornament features a brilliant blue acrylic stone surrounded by alternating pear- and cushion-shaped rhinestones. Polished silver-tone finish evokes the mirrored shine of the jewel's rhodium setting.
The real Hope Diamond was mined in India in the 17th century, passed through royal courts and private collections, and was donated to the Smithsonian in 1958 by famed jeweler Harry Winston. Today it remains the world's largest known deep-blue diamond and a centerpiece of the national collection.
