Smithsonian Exclusive Smithsonian Institution Exclusive

Accessorize with artistic flare. The flowering motif gracing this beautiful William Morris Garden Scarf reprises a design by English textile designer William Morris, whose contributions to the decorative arts greatly influenced the Arts and Crafts movement (circa 1880-1920). Satin chiffon. Imported.
Many of William Morris' floral-patterned textiles and wallpapers are curated by our Cooper-Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum. Opened in 1897 by the three Hewitt sisters—granddaughters of industrialist Peter Cooper—they created a museum that functions as a visual library of design. Now housed in the 1902 Andrew Carnegie mansion in New York City, the collections include a spectrum of textiles and weaving techniques.
63"l. x 20"w.
