Westie Bookends
Item #78218
We regret that this item is not available at this time.
Bring Favorite Books to Heel. Artisan crafted and painted, these adorable Westie Bookends extol the spunky personality of the West Highland White Terrier breed, while protecting the books they bracket. Evocative of beloved antique market finds, they are the perfect dog lover’s gift for those with an eye for the printed word. Cast iron.
These sturdy Westie Bookends are reminiscent of terrier artworks in our Smithsonian American Art Museum and in our Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden. Often crafted as functional art, bookends are represented throughout the Smithsonian Institution, including gilt bronze bookends in our Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum, pottery and wood made-for-sale bookends in our National Museum of the American Indian, and Charles Lindbergh bookend memorabilia in our National Air and Space Museum.

"Being a Westie owner, these were a perfect addition. I like the "aged" look, like something out of an English or Scottish country home."

"The dogs depicted on the book ends had splotches of black paint on them. The were not the pristine looking ones I saw in the catalog illustration. Sadly, I had to return them. I did not reorder them because if I were to be sent a second flawed pair of bookends I would then have to go to the trouble of mailing them back again."
