Live luxe day into evening with this Spring Gemstone Swag Necklace. Generously beaded with orbs of naturally marbled blue sodalite and squares of pastel green amazonite, baroque (irregularly shaped) freshwater pearls complete the look. Natural variations will occur.
This Spring Gemstone Swag Necklace celebrates sodalite, amazonite, and pearls in our National Gem Collection at our National Museum of Natural History. One of the greatest collections of its kind, the National Gem and Mineral Collection includes over 375,000 individual specimens and treasured jewelry pieces, including the Hope Diamond and the Dunn Pearls.
25.5"l. Lobster clasp.
Deriving its name from its sodium content, sodalite is an opaque blue gemstone, almost always veined with white calcite. Shades of sodalite range from light to deep royal blue and from grayish blue to violet.

A green gemstone variety of the mineral feldspar used extensively by the Egyptians, amazonite displays a lustrous reflection similar to iridescence. Often called the stone of courage, some believe this semi-opaque stone is named for the mythical Amazon women warriors.
