Six African lions—Luke, Shaka, Jumbe, Shera, Amahle, and Naba—reside in an outdoor habitat at the Smithsonian's National Zoo Great Cats exhibit atop Lion/Tiger Hill. These regal animals are ambassadors for the Zoo's conservation and science initiatives.
Lion artworks can be found in the collections of our Freer Gallery of Art, Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, Cooper-Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum and our National Museum of African Art.
