Works of cloisonné art worthy of penning the most important notes, these gorgeous brass Set of 5 Cherry Blossom Cloisonné Pens are hand-enameled with elegant cherry blossom motifs. Black ink. Gift boxed.
An art form originating in the Middle East and elevated in China, after its arrival there in the 13th and 14th centuries, the cloisonné technique adorns copper or bronze objects with copper wire designs. The resulting cells are then filled with enamel, fired in a kiln and polished, creating a harmonious contrast between the gleaming metal and the jewel-hued enamel. This elegant Set of 5 Cherry Blossom Cloisonné Pens recalls cloisonné objects curated in our Asian ethnological collection at our National Museum of Natural History.
Set of 5, one each color, as shown. 5.11"l.
