Set of 3 Glass Animal Ornaments
We regret that this item is not available at this time.
Celebrating 3 of the Smithsonian National Zoo’s most popular animals—lions, zebras, and pandas—this exquisite Set of 3 Glass Animal Ornaments make wonderful stand-alone decorative accents or can be suspended from a tree. The Lion and Zebra are made by lampwork artists who carefully melt down glass rods to create each design. The Panda is made using a torchwork technique, allowing the glass artist to include specific detail.
An African Lion, Luke—along with 2 lionesses (Nababiep and Shera) and six cubs born in 2014—reside in an outdoor habitat at the Smithsonian National Zoo’s Great Cats Exhibit atop Lion/Tiger Hill. An endangered species, Grevy’s Zebras—found in Kenya and Ethiopia—thrive at the Smithsonian’s National Zoo Cheetah Conservation Station in a grassland setting similar to their natural savanna habitat. The male panda cub Bei Bei (born August 22, 2015)—along with 3 adult Giant Pandas—can be seen in person at the Smithsonian National Zoo’s Giant Panda Habitat or online via the Panda Cam.

Lion artworks can be found in the collections of our Freer Gallery of Art, Hirshhorn Museum, Cooper-Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum, and our National Museum of African Art. Zebras are studied by the Smithsonian’s Department of Vertebrate Zoology. A Giant Panda screenprint poster is curated by our Smithsonian American Art Museum.
