Joseph Fragua Small Dragonfly Vase
Item #77346
We regret that this item is not available at this time.
Known for his beautiful contemporary designs, Joseph Fragua of the Jemez Pueblo graced this Small Dragonfly Vase with an enchanting dragonfly motif, which he hand painted using natural pigments and a yucca stem brush. After shaping this one-of-a-kind work of art—by hand coiling clay unearthed within the Jemez Pueblo—he fired the completed vase over an open pit kiln. Signed by the artist. Handcrafted in New Mexico.
Like this Joseph Fragua Small Dragonfly Vase, contemporary Jemez Pueblo potters use traditional methods to create modern shapes and designs. Jemez Pueblo ceramics are well represented in our National Museum of the American Indian.
