James Augustine Seed Pot
Item #80667
Tell A Friend
Acoma Pueblo artist James Augustine formed this striking seed pot from coils of locally gathered clay. A one-of-a-kind work of art, he hand painted the intricate spiral-petal design with naturally tinted clay slips. Finally he fired the pot over an open pit kiln. Signed by the artist. Handcrafted in New Mexico.
Also known as seed jars, a number of Acoma Pueblo seed pots are included in the collections of our National Museum of the American Indian.
