Smithsonian Exclusive Smithsonian Institution Exclusive

Understated opulence for the holidays or any special occasion. These enamel and faux pearl Emerald Flower Pierced Earrings were inspired by floral motifs adorning a music box made by the firm of Carl Fabergé in 1907. Gold finished pewter.
Delicate floralwork designs are held in many of our collections, including those of our Cooper-Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum. Opened in 1897 by the three Hewitt sisters—granddaughters of industrialist Peter Cooper—they created a museum that functions as a visual library of design. Now housed in the 1902 Andrew Carnegie mansion in New York City, the collections include a spectrum of textiles and weaving techniques.

Additional floralwork examples are curated in our National Museum of American History.
