As if he has drained the last drops of water from a pond, the playful elephant attached to this adorable Drinking Elephant Bowl has perfectly positioned his trunk for maximum access to peanuts, snacks, or any other goodies you might place there. Hand-carved from jacaranda wood by Kenyan wood artisans, the surface of this Drinking Elephant Bowl is so finely sanded, no lacquer is required. Food safe, dry foods only. Hand wash.
One of the most popular exhibits at the Smithsonian’s National Zoo is Elephant Trails, where a multigenerational herd of 6 Asian elephants (Shanthi, Bozie, Ambika, Kamala, Swarna, and Maharani) thrive. Elephant Trails lets visitors observe the elephants indoors and out in such innovative areas as an elephant exercise trek, water features, a giant sand pit and a shower they can operate themselves. This stimulating new elephant home is part of the Zoo’s effort to save this magnificent species.

The rotunda of our National Museum of Natural History displays its iconic African elephant in a newer setting—where you can explore the evolution of elephants from their earliest predecessors to three modern-day species.

"Was ordered as gift for Xmas so disapointed not to give. Will either return or sand out chip and keep myself. Love the design and the bowl is so smooth and just the right size for holding jewelry on my night stand."
