Hand screen-printed, the elegant asymmetrical peacock design of this sumptuous Birds of Brilliance Silk Scarf ends in one intricately patterned border. Hand-rolled hem. Imported. 100% silk.
This Birds of Brilliance Silk Scarf recalls peacock motifs adorning the Peacock Room at our Freer Gallery of Art. Decorated by James McNeill Whistler (of Whistler's Mother fame) with peacock-themed murals, panels, patterns, and palette, this room was purchased by Charles Lang Freer in 1904 and later donated to the Smithsonian museum which now bears his name.
