The finely worked body, openwork wings and included omega chain are oxidized sterling silver. Natural variations will occur.  Pendant, 2.25" x 2.25". Chain with lobster claw clasp, 18"l.

Museum Provenance

Magnificent and timeless, the pendant of this stunning Amber Honeybee Necklace reprises the naturalistic style of early 20th-century art nouveau jewelry, while recalling figurative amber jewelry in the Smithsonian Institution’s National Gem Collection. Comprised of more than 7,500 individual gemstones, the National Gem Collection is considered one of the world’s finest.

Every Smithsonian purchase will arrive with a museum provenance card explaining how it is adapted from or inspired by an object or objects in our collection.
