Designed by Chico Bicalho, this eco-friendly critter loves to climb over objects with its 18 antsy feet. It has also been known to gallop upside down. Wind it up by rotating the center right set of legs backwards and watch it go. Stainless steel with plastic, glow-in-the-dark feet. Colors will vary. Ages 14 and up.

Museum Provenance
The Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden has an artist-in-residence program that allows young visitors to connect with creativity in practice. Our toys, games and accessories are fun and practical illustrations of the design standards represented in the museum's collection.
Every Smithsonian purchase will arrive with a museum provenance card explaining how it is adapted from or inspired by an object or objects in our collection.
My grandson will be 9 and is very curious. Grandpa had to play with it to see how it works before I could wrap it.

I bought this for a friend who I went to the air and space museum with. He was in love with this critter, but wasn't sure if he wanted to buy it. So I bought it for him. He loved it!

The grandskids were delighted with this whimsical bug. I loved this 'old fashioned' toy that required no batteries.

Comments about Wind-Up Walking Critter:
Bought for all our grandsons Christmas. Showed to firends our age and they loved it too. They were bigger then we thought they would be after reading some reviews, which is a good thing. A little disappointed in how short they ran. Requires rewinding more often then we thought they would. But they are still fun!

Comments about Wind-Up Walking Critter:
Our 7 year old nephew received this from us as a gift. We all were pleased with the toy, even the adults play with it. It is absolutely appropriate for a boy his age, as the toy can easily be wound up and operated by a child his age. What fun it is to see the "super bug" crawl over obstacles, including little bare feet, which resulted in a lot of giggles!
