One look at Plush Stuffed Farrah the Deer Fawn with her soft brown eyes and your heart will melt. In fact, she’s so eager to leave the forest and be your friend, she is sprawled on her tummy to let you know she’ll never run away—not from naps, not from playtime, not even from show and tell. And, just like a real fawn, Plush Stuffed Farrah the Deer Fawn has a soft brown fur with white spots. Farrah the Fawn Deer is made of high quality kid safe materials—soft plush exterior; polyester fiber interior; lock washer eyes—and meets or exceeds all U.S. safety standards. Surface-washable. Imported. Ages 3 and up.  12"l. x 5"w. x 5"h.

Museum Provenance

White-tailed deer, like many other temperate forest mammals of North America, help ensure their babies, or fawns, are well fed by bearing young in the spring when food—buds, twigs and shrubs have sprouted—is abundant. Mammals, which include human beings, are one class of warm-blooded vertebrate animals that have evolved and adapted to our planet. The Kenneth E. Behring Family Hall of Mammals at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History explores the diversity of some 274 mammals and how they originated and adapted to changing landscapes and environments over the last 225 million years.

Every Smithsonian purchase will arrive with a museum provenance card explaining how it is adapted from or inspired by an object or objects in our collection.
