I had wanted this item for a long time, but had not been able to afford. Then one day, my dream came true. I was very pleased when I opened the box. I have converted it to a necklace. I also have a replica of the Hope Diamond and have converted it to a necklace. I get so many complements on it, I can hardly wait to wear the "Sultan's Emerald". I am so pleased that I finally aquired this beautiful piece.

I ordered this pin to give to my sister for her birthday next month. I tried tracking the order through FeDex only to have it delivered by USPS. The clasp on the pin was broken upon arrival after talking to CS I was told I would not be able to resolve the issue today and to call back again tommorrow! It remains to be seen what kind of sastisfaction I will be able to recieve, I suspect I wll just get a refund.

"Emerald stone will vary in color" says the description, and it's true. The pin I received has a very dark, almost black emerald--it is NOT the bright green shown in the catalog, but more like the one in the "write a review" section. Other than the disappointing color, the pin is well-made, eye-catching and unique. I have a black fake-fur Russian-style hat (ushanka) that I dress up with a rhinestone or crystal pin on the front, and this one looks fantastic on it. I will keep this pin, but I do wish that a brighter green stone had been used in it. Surely the manufacturer could have obtained bright green crystals, since they ARE just colored glass, after all.

The description reads "emerald stone may vary in color" --how true! It is NOT the bright clear green shown in the catalog illustration; the almost-black brooch pictured in the "Write a Review" pop-up window is more accurate. It's a beautiful brooch, but the emerald is such a dark green that it appears black in ordinary light. I have a black Russian-style hat (ushanka) that I dress up with a spectacular rhinestone pin or brooch on the front, and this brooch WILL look great on it, but it is not the bright green I'd hoped for; although I will keep it anyway, as it really is a unique piece of fine jewelry. But it would be interesting to find out if ANY of these brooches are made with a bright green stone, or if they are all the almost-black that I received.
