Museum Provenance
The Enid A. Haupt Garden is really an “outdoor” museum consisting of four and one-half acres. This alternative center for learning surrounds the Smithsonian grounds on the National Mall along with the Museum’s other gardens. It is maintained by our Horticulture Services Department, whose collection include plants, flowers, statuary, books, photos and drawings. Our garden inspired gifts depict plants cultivated in the collection.
Every Smithsonian purchase will arrive with a museum provenance card explaining how it is adapted from or inspired by an object or objects in our collection.
