Rainbow Maker has a prism that creates rainbow colors all over the room when the sun activates the solar powered motor to turn the prism. I have it in a kitchen window and I love the delightful effect.

The crystal emits beautiful rainbow colors that circle our kitchen. This is my second one and I bought one for my son's family. They had seen the other one and loved it. That first one did fall off the window several times and broke but this time I am going to hang it on a string. Would recommend this a lot.

Love the rainbows dancing on walls. Interesting to watch the mechanicals run through clear plastic. Short coming won't run on our High E windows needs more light but prism still defracts light. Would buy again.

This is a great item for teaching about solar power and refraction. Most of the unit is plastic. Once the sun shines on it the motors starts up and the crystal turns. Once in awhile it doesn't turn because the gears rest in an awkward fashion. To fix it, just turn the rod that spins and it will go. The gears are plastic so they will wear a little. My only problem happened after a year of continous use. I accidentally knocked it off the window and one of the gears chipped. When it would rest on the gear, it would get stuck.

This is a fun gift for yourself or grand child. On only very sunny days, the round prism rotates casting rainbows around the room. I thought it would have more rainbows, so I'm not certain if I will keep it.
