Long lashes and a perfectly coifed mane are this plush stuffed Zebra Cuddklekin’s way of grooming herself for a new family. Her plush faux fur with its distinctive striping is velvety soft. Exceptionally realistic, her adorable nose awaits the touch of gentle hands. Unlike many of her savanna-dwelling relatives, she prefers to live in a loving child’s home or join a collector’s stuffed animal menagerie. Non-toxic materials—polyester plush exterior, polyethylene pellet interior and lock washer eyes—meet or exceed U.S. safety standards. Surface-washable. Imported. Ages 3 and up.  12"l. x 5"w. x 6.5"h.

Museum Provenance

Zebras are among some 274 mammals whose diversity is explored by The Kenneth E. Behring Family Hall of Mammals at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History. You will find a zebra in the waterhole habitat in the Africa Gallery. Because zebras need more water for digestion than other grazing animals, they frequent waterholes in the dry season. Their stripes, unique to each zebra, are both a camouflage to predators and a means of individual identity.

Every Smithsonian purchase will arrive with a museum provenance card explaining how it is adapted from or inspired by an object or objects in our collection.
