Museum Provenance

Every Smithsonian purchase will arrive with a museum provenance card explaining how it is adapted from or inspired by an object or objects in our collection.
I originally intended this clock for my class but chose to keep it for a while in my kitchen. I like that you can design the order of the cubics and organize a colorful pattern of sorts. It is the first clock that I have with the hands being accessible to users. It is so cool! The only thing that I found a little on the cons side was that it makes the usual ticking noise like any other wall clock I bought in the past.

Comments about Puzzle Clock:
I ordered this clock as a Christmas gift for my brother, who teaches a class called "Puzzled" at Case Western University in Cleveland, Ohio. He had never seen anything like it, and it was the first present in which he and my 12-year-old nephew installed batteries after all of our gifts were opened. They worked together for nearly two hours designing an imaginative face peering from behind the hands. Thank you for a unique and delightful product that was as entertaining as it is attractive!

For baby's nursery wall
Comments about Puzzle Clock:
This was a lucky choice in that I learned that the walls of the nursery of a friend's baby are in rainbow shades. She said it would work perfectly. I did point out to her that the age of use is for three and up, just to be safe. The box says "Made by Human" which got a laugh at the baby shower at which this gift was given.

Comments about Puzzle Clock:
I purchased two of these as gifts for some hard to buy for people. I'm hoping they'll get a kick out of it. I have the Rubix Cube clock that Smithsonian had a few years ago and was hoping to get something similar. They are a little bit larger than I pictured, but I think they'll work out. Smithsonian is a great source for unusual gifts!
