Cultivated in our Smithsonian Gardens Greenhouse Facility, the orchid collection is used to beautify museum interiors and for special exhibitions. Our 18th Annual Orchid Exhibition—this year entitled Orchids of Latin America—runs through April 21, 2013.
Every Smithsonian purchase will arrive with a museum provenance card explaining how it is adapted from or inspired by an object or objects in our collection.
