|A Smithsonian Institution Exclusive|
This magnificent Vintage "Juliette" Emerald Jewelry Set was inspired by Marjorie Merriweather Post’s spectacular Columbian emerald necklace. Mrs. Post wore the original while dressed as “Juliette” at the 1929 Palm Beach Everglades Ball. Made by Cartier, Inc., the original Indian-style design with platinum settings and pavé-set diamond beads paired 24 baroque-cut emerald drops with smaller emerald orbs. Our adaptation with rhodium-plated settings pairs beautiful handmade baroque glass beads and hand-spun glass drops with clear Czech crystal filigree beads. The Necklace features a 2.5"l. extender chain with accent bead and lobster clasp; the Earrings feature removable cubic zirconia studs and surgical steel posts. Assembled in the U.S.A. Set comes with a Necklace and Earrings. Necklace, 19"l.; Pierced Earrings, 1.43"l.
Marjorie Merriweather Post’s spectacular Columbian emerald necklace is now held in the National Gem Collection.
