Amber Honeybee Necklace
|A Smithsonian Institution Exclusive|
With honeybees and honey-hued amber sharing a 40-million-year history, this sculptural Amber Honeybee Necklace is an eye-catching marriage of natural elements. Handmade in Poland by highly skilled artisans, the head and tail of this elegant and highly detailed Amber Honeybee Necklace are delicately fashioned from gem-quality Baltic amber in rich shades of honey, cream and lemon. The finely worked body, openwork wings and included omega chain are oxidized sterling silver. Natural variations will occur. Pendant, 2.25" x 2.25". Chain with lobster claw clasp, 18"l.
Magnificent and timeless, the pendant of this stunning Amber Honeybee Necklace reprises the naturalistic style of early 20th-century art nouveau jewelry, while recalling figurative amber jewelry in the Smithsonian Institution’s National Gem Collection. Comprised of more than 7,500 individual gemstones, the National Gem Collection is considered one of the world’s finest.
