Hi! My name is Trumpet. I am a plush stuffed newborn elephant. Since I don’t have a mother, I need someone to take care of me. How do you like my big, dreamy calf eyes? Do they melt your heart? I am an exceptionally cute and cuddly plush stuffed elephant. If I promise not to let my trunk make the trumpet sound and if the only food I need is love, can I come live at your house? Crafted with high quality, kid-safe, man-made materials—soft plush exterior; polyester fiber interior; lock washer eyes—that meet or exceed all U.S. safety standards. Surface-washable. Imported. Ages 3 and up.  10"l. x 6.5"w. x 8"h.

Museum Provenance

There is only one family of Proboscidea alive today: Elephantidae, which has two herbivorous species, the African and Asiatic (Indian) elephants. Elephants are recognizable by their great size, huge head and earflaps, a very long, mobile trunk, bulky body and four pillar-like legs. Hundreds of mammals, including elephants, are exhibited in life-like settings of the Kenneth E. Behring Family Hall of Mammals at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History.

Every Smithsonian purchase will arrive with a museum provenance card explaining how it is adapted from or inspired by an object or objects in our collection.
