Hi! My name is Tommy. I am a plush stuffed white tiger cub with big blue dreamy eyes. Other plush stuffed animals say my special striped white coat makes me especially adorable. Since I don’t have a mother, I need someone to take care of me. If I promise not to roar and if the only food I need is love, can I come live at your house? An exceptionally cuddly plush stuffed white tiger, I am crafted with high quality, kid-safe, man-made materials—soft plush exterior; polyester fiber interior; lock washer eyes—that meet or exceed all U.S. safety standards. Surface-washable. Imported. Ages 3 and up.  10"l. x 6.5"w. 8"h.

Museum Provenance

Mammals, which include human beings, are one class of warm-blooded vertebrate animals that have evolved and adapted to our planet. The Kenneth E. Behring Family Hall of Mammals at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History explores the diversity of some 274 mammals and how they originated and adapted to changing landscapes and environments over the last 225 million years—from polar to desert regions and from dry to humid environments. The largest member of the cat family, the tiger can grow to more than 10 feet in length and weigh up to more than 650 pounds. The pigmentation of white tigers represents a mutation of the Bengal Tiger subspecies, which lives primarily in India and Bangladesh.

Every Smithsonian purchase will arrive with a museum provenance card explaining how it is adapted from or inspired by an object or objects in our collection.
