Smithsonian Castle Earbud Holder
|A Smithsonian Institution Exclusive|
No more tangles with our Smithsonian Castle Earbud Holder. Simply wind your earbuds around the indented ends and secure with the snappable strap. The easy-open carabineer lets you hook it onto a set of keys or belt loop. Subtly embossed with a silhouette of the Smithsonian Castle on the front and the Smithsonian logo on the strap, this American design Castle Earbud Holder is crafted from pebbled Italian leather. Brass hardware. Imported.
The silhouette gracing our exclusive Smithsonian Castle Earbud Holder celebrates the first Smithsonian Institution building, affectionately known as the “Castle.” Designed by architect James Renwick, Jr., and completed in 1855, its Gothic Revival style sought to emulate the architecture of England’s universities. Why the red sandstone façade? It was significantly less expensive than marble or granite. In 1965, the Smithsonian Castle was designated a National Historic Landmark.
Every Smithsonian purchase will arrive with a museum provenance card explaining how it is adapted from or inspired by an object or objects in our collection.
