Sioux Blanket T-Shirt

A Sisseton Sioux beaded cloth, circa 1890, in the permanent collection of our National American Indian Museum is the inspiration for this t-shirt. Designed by Hollis Aesnap of the Comanche Nation, the screen-printed bead cloth motif is on the front and full back. 100% pre-shrunk cotton. Made in the USA.  Sizes S, M, L, XL, 2X.

Museum Provenance

The original Sisseton Sioux beaded cloth, made with glass beads, wool trade cloth, and wool yarn, is influenced by the floral beadwork style of the Métis, descendants of French fur traders and Native groups.

Every Smithsonian purchase will arrive with a museum provenance card explaining how it is adapted from or inspired by an object or objects in our collection.
