Museum Provenance

In our exhibit, The American Presidency: A Glorious Burden, all aspects of the Presidency are explored from elections, to presidential aviation, to the private life of Presidents in and out of the White House. Throughout the exhibit are iconic images, symbols and artifacts of political parties, American patriotism and politicians. Our gifts are similar to Air Force One and politically themed artifacts in the exhibit. Sleepwear can be found in our costume collection, National Museum of American History, Behring Center.

Every Smithsonian purchase will arrive with a museum provenance card explaining how it is adapted from or inspired by an object or objects in our collection.
