Baltic Amber Cat Pendant Necklace

Museum Provenance

Gem-quality Baltic amber, formed from conifer trees fossilized for 30 to 60 million years, is found along the southeastern shores of the Baltic Sea, especially near Gdansk, Poland, and the Russian exclave, Kaliningrad. Cognac, lemon and green are the most usual Baltic amber colors. This pendant necklace was inspired by Baltic amber in our National Gem and Mineral Collection, National Museum of Natural History.
