I purchased this for a Pharmasist. I thought it would make a clever gift!

Comments about Travertine Mortar and Pestle:
We experiment with cooking flavors (herbs & spices). A mortar & pestle will allow us more intense flavors. I wanted one that was Unique for a Christmas Gift. The colors are beautiful, my Wife loves it, & her friends love it!

Comments about Travertine Mortar and Pestle:
This travertine mortar and pestle are the most beautiful I have in my collection. Practical and gorgeous in one! When not in use makes a wonderful display item. When using, grinds smoothly and evenly on everything from pepper to rosemary. There's nothing I don't like about it.

I use this almost daily to blend spices and because it is also a piece of art, I can leave it on the counter.

Comments about Travertine Mortar and Pestle:
My husband is very hard to buy for. I wanted something unique and something that he would use. He is an avid gardener, and uses the mortar to grind up his hot peppers, then distributes to friends and family. Everyone who sees this product remarks on how beautiful it is.

Comments about Travertine Mortar and Pestle:
My husband collects mortar and pestle sets. The more common ones we do use in the kitchen, but this one was far too handsome for there or for his display in the den. Instead it has found a home on a livingroom shelf!

Haven't used it yet, but have enjoyed looking at it daily. It doesn't hide in a cabinet.
