Did you know that Plush Stuffed Chuckles the Baby Chimp is ticklish? Since humans and chimps share 99% of the same DNA, it should not be a surprise that humans and chimpanzees have similar ticklish spots. Chuckles the Baby Chimp can’t wait until you find his ticklish places. His unique white chin whiskers? His tan face, ears or feet? How about his fuzzy plush black body? Though Chuckles the Baby Chimp may laugh silently, his large brown expressive eyes will let you know when you hit his sweet spot. Actually, a hug is all Chuckles really needs. Plush Stuffed Chuckles the Baby Chimp is made of high quality kid safe materials—soft plush exterior; polyester fiber interior; lock washer eyes—and meets or exceeds all U.S. safety standards. Surface-washable. Imported. Ages 3 and up.  8"l. x 7"w. x 8.5"h.

Museum Provenance

Smithsonian researchers study chimpanzees in Gabon’s Gamba Complex of Protected Areas, whose forests have an incredible diversity of plant and animal species. Chimpanzees are mammals that share 99% of human DNA. Mammals, which include human beings, are one class of warm-blooded vertebrate animals that have evolved and adapted to our planet. The Kenneth E. Behring Family Hall of Mammals at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History explores the diversity of some 274 mammals and how they originated and adapted to changing landscapes and environments over the last 225 million years.

Every Smithsonian purchase will arrive with a museum provenance card explaining how it is adapted from or inspired by an object or objects in our collection.
