The item is great, works wonderfully with wind up key - carefull not to loose as it is small. Great look and will be fine for child, but if small parent needs to hold on to key

This made a wonderful gift for my Grandson. He already has a collection of trains and this is yet one more train to add to his already extensive collection. I also like the gear and the historical aspect of this toy. I think he will enjoy this for quite some time and I hope that he keeps it in his collection until he can pass it down to his son!

Perfect gift for a little boy or, in my case, the new Grandpa that is into trains. No batteries, just wind it up, runs a good distance on hard surfaces, not so far on carpet. Well constructed - not a "tuff toy" but built much better than I expected.

This was a Christmas gift to my granddughter's husband. He enjoys anything about trains. He will soon be a first time Dad. All the attention is naturally focused on his unborn son so I thought he should receive a "toy" of his own. He was really pleased and immediately wound it up and let it go.
