Made of porcelain, these Mini Openwork Holly Dishes are food, microwave and dishwasher safe. Approx. 1"h. x 2.5"l. Set of 6, two each shape.

Museum Provenance

These Mini Openwork Holly Dishes are inspired by an object in our ceramics and glass collections, National Museum of American History, Behring Center. The ceramics and glass collections include much of the Smithsonian’s collection of both artistic and functional glass and ceramics. Early porcelains from the Orient including Imari and blue and white Canton are represented. Italy’s Capodimonte, still renowned for its fine decorative porcelains, is included. English Staffordshire pottery and a large collection of American ceramics from the Revolutionary War period to 20th-century art pottery are part of the collections.

Every Smithsonian purchase will arrive with a museum provenance card explaining how it is adapted from or inspired by an object or objects in our collection.

The product was exactly as I expected - I use them at the Holifay Table for salt dips or to hold olive oil and herbs for dipping bread. Good fo rindividual servings.

I have an identical item, except decorated with a tulip, which I purchased in Amsterdam. On the bottom it says "Delft handpainted Delfieur Holland." So I wonder where is this made? The online catalog should tell us. I suspect the dish comes from China or some such and is finished locally. It's a beautiful little dish that we use to hold our vitamins at breakfast. It's delicate; we already broke one. I'm pretty sure the price was much less in Amsterdam. Bottom line: very nice but high in price.
