I bought this bookmark set for Christmas and is utterly disappointed.
The box in which the product is placed in is flimsy and the bookmarks themselves are in appalling condition. The paint is falling off, and the Butterfly attached to the bookmark is glued on to the bookmark. The metallic sheen is also peeling off, and the back looks like spotted aluminum foil.

Smithsonian Catalogue refunded my order, but if you are like me, a high schooler trying to look for a present to show your gratitude to your friends for their help to you, you will be utterly upset that the product's quality is way below your expectations.

This is my first time shopping with Smithsonian, and I would suppose that the other products that it has to offer would be better, but this "Made in China" bookmark is really no good. Plus I guess if you look at it in another viewpoint: the things you buy from Smithsonian is used to help the foundations' program, you can really see buying this product as a twisted donation. But if they are going to refund you the money anyway, you are harming the foundation by wasting their work force in helping you.

This product looks beautiful on-line but when I received my order, the box they came in looked like it had been sitting on a shelf for twenty years. When I opened up the item, the bookmarks were corroded and faded in color. I called Smithsonian and they immediately fedexed me a new set but it was the same situation. I called them and told them they should remove this product from their store. They refunded my money but turned down my offer to send the product back so they could see for themselves.

I guess you get what you pay for. Misleading description of product. Catalogue photo was much more impressive than actual product which is cheap looking and below Smithsonian standards. Ricipients were pleased but you and I know that even fake closionne can look better than these bookmarks.
